The Influence Of Feelings In The Heart

The influence of feelings on the heart is a subject that transcended romantic literature and came to be studied by scientists. Therefore, today we ask ourselves what science can tell us about the topic.
The Influence of Feelings in the Heart

Symbolically, the heart is the organ of feelings, in part because it corresponds to the rhythm of life. Physiologically, not quite. However, it is not very wrong to say that the management of our emotions can directly influence the health of our circulatory system and, consequently, its central organ. Today we will talk about the influence of feelings on the heart.

Throughout life, traumatic circumstances can occur, in which the individual may face a relatively worrying degree of stress. Thus, all experiences that generate a high degree of frustration and suffering  directly affect the individual’s quality of life.

The New York Times analyzed the influence of feelings on the heart

The New York Times , in its article  The Effect of Emotions on the Heart , states that this organ is, at the same time, a relatively simple biological machine and a vital organ with an enormous symbolic charge.  It is the literary scene of romance, sadness, fear and courage.

In Western culture it has a high degree of importance, as it is considered a kind of crystalline surface on which it reflects and nourishes itself with love. Likewise, the New York newspaper publication claims that stress and hopelessness can significantly affect health.

Clarifies that higher stress points cause the heart to suffer, increasing pulse and tension, when the rest of the body can’t keep up (unlike what happens when we exercise).

Studies confirm the influence of feelings on the heart

Josep M. Caralps, the first cardiac surgeon to perform a heart transplant in Spain in 1984, proposed the idea that perhaps the heart generates its own feelings and emotions, and the brain is the transmitter. This caused a stir in the medical community, which still has no evidence on the topic.

Thus, Josep claims that   many of his transplant patients had new feelings about new practices that they had never done. The doctor specializing in cardiology assures that all this is due to the heart transplant, which evokes his old body.

However, many colleagues are reluctant about his statements, as they feel that they lack sufficient scientific basis.

the broken heart syndrome

The broken heart syndrome is the result of a very deep sadness. A sadness that affects the functioning of the nervous system and, by extension, the rest of the organs.

So, can a heart be broken because of great pain? In fact, it’s easier to do this literally than literally. However, chronic (maintained over time) and intense negative emotions can compromise the functioning of the circulatory system.

Furthermore, it is valid to say that it is possible to die from lack of love. Negative feelings derived from the perceived lack of love, as well as other sources of negative emotions, can directly affect the number and quality of our body’s defenses. This is perhaps one of the most powerful reasons that stand out in our emotional sphere.
